Masking & Selective Finishing at West-Tech

West-Tech Finishing Inc. provides in-house masking and selective finishing for aluminum components where specific surfaces, holes, or features must remain uncoated during anodizing. Masking is commonly used for grounding surfaces, tight-tolerance areas, and threaded or through holes.

Depending on the part, we use silicone plugs for holes, polyester tape for flat surfaces and custom profiles, and liquid rubber masking for curved or complex areas. Custom tape shapes can also be cut in-house using our plotter for consistent, repeatable masking.

For polyester tape and liquid rubber masking, chemical conversion coating is applied first when needed for proper adhesion. Keeping masking, conversion coating, and anodizing in-house helps ensure each job follows the drawing and selective finishing requirements.

Standard lead time is typically 4 to 5 business days, with expedited service available for more urgent production requirements.

For an accurate quote, include the material, quantity, applicable specification, finishing process, and a drawing clearly identifying the areas that must remain uncoated.
